Shawn was a man. He did not want to see anyone harm. “Let the women go, and my son go,” he told the robber. “I have one pistol. I will take it out slow,” he told the man. The robber was unable to look at Shawn in the eyes because he has dark glasses on to hide his injured eye. His right eye was sensitive to the light too.
“Pa, no,” James said as he was tugging on his father's long jacket. “I will stand here with you. Father like Son,” he stood from behind his father trying to look a tough man. He was to cute to look tough.

Watching, Lewis shook his head in disbelief. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. This had to have been the most disorganized hold-up in the history of hold-ups.
He had a couple of choices. Either watch this pathetic scene unfold before him until somebody got hurt, watch the buffoon get killed or help him rob the place and get half the money. Since he was short in cash he chose the latter. Pulling his neck scarf over his nose and mouth to disguise his face he pulled out his pistol and stood up.
"YOU HEARD MY PARTNER! HANDS UP!" he threatened loudly as he waved his gun around. "GIVE US ALL YOUR MONEY OR GIT SHOT!" he looked at the original robber and shrugged his shoulders. "NOW!!"
Moving out from around the saddle he moved over to the young woman behind the counter and held his gun on her. "COME ON, LITTLE LADY! GIVE US ALL YOUR CASH! YOU!" he motioned over to the original robber. "GIT THEIR MONEY AND LET'S SKEDADDLE OUT OF HERE! AH, PAWDNER! HURRY UP!" He pointed to the people standing there with their lower jaws hanging open.
Looking at the shocked look on the robber's face Lewis nodded for him to move forward and get the goods from the customers.

What in all tarnation was going on here? Tully nearly jumped out of her skin as the second man, one she'd never seen before, popped up at the back of the store, shouting commands. Keeping her hands where they could be seen, she looked at the older man and shrugged. "I ain't got th' key ta get into th' money," she grumbled, setting the cash box on the counter. "You can take that, an' I ain't got no money." Jeremiah would know that, although she wondered when he'd gotten a partner.
She glanced at the undertaker, glad that he seemed to be cooperating, but she was wondering about the girl who had just come in, looking like a cross between a spooked jackrabbit and a cat dying of curiosity. She was obviously not suited to this place, and Tully just hoped she didn't do anything stupid.

Money? They wanted her money? Emeline stared wide-eyed at the newcomer, then looked at the man closer to her. She barely had any money, just the little her parents had scraped together for her trip, and she had plans for every cent.
Still, she'd be the envy of every one of her friends back in Ohio. A real robbery on her first full day here! How exciting was that? It certainly wasn't the same old boring trip to the store, that was certain. Slowly lowering her hands, she reached into her bag and pulled out the small pouch of bills and coins, a whopping two dollars and seventy-three cents.

You know that look Harrison Ford when he gets upset. That was Jeremiah's face reaction when he saw the other man pop out of nowhere with guns. Partners? Jeremiah had no partner on this robbery. The robbery was an impulse to help Tully in the situation with the Undertaker. Yea, the judge buys that. It was the wildest story.
An if story--- 'You see your honor, I was trying to bail out a friend in a shop. I knew she was in a spot because she was poor. I knew she did not work at the General Store. I felt Tully was pretending to work at the shop. I pulled out my guns out to try to scare the Undertaker and his kid out of the shop, but than another robber came out with guns blazing and a woman walked in. You see it all started that way... You do not believe me...What I am guilty...'
Jeremiah had to go with it. “You boy, you gather everyone's money,” he said looking up at Tully. He was looking at her. It was little longer. He hoped she had a gut feeling. The man was thinking, Curl I am trying to help you. This was not my plan. Honest don't hate me.
James nodded, and he moved through everyone to get the money. He stopped at the register. “I can't carry that,” he said to the man with the mask.
“Okay,” Jeremiah replied. He nodded to the other man. The other man was a man who was going to rob the place. That was funny. Jeremiah laughed. He had found it funny. “Okay, you step back Undertaker. You! The one with the ugly curls! You come forward,” he told her.
The new comer lady was cute too. Jeremiah noticed her. He noticed the other man had a mask. The mask made Jeremiah look like an idiot.

Lewis paid no attention to the first robber but concentrated on the girl behind the counter. Who the first robber was or was not robbing he didn't pay any attention to, he just now had eyes for the girl behind the counter.
"YOU!" he pointed at the curly haired girl behind the counter. "Grab the box, you're coming with us," he ordered. "You ready, pawdner?!" he called over his shoulder. "Com'on, girl!" he shouted to her. "Git a move on! We gotta be gittin'! afore the law comes."
He motioned with his pistol for Tully to move.

Shawn did not want anyone to be hurt. The fact that the two men wanted to take worker out of the store. He had his son to be concerned. He was a gentleman. Gentleman would protect women. Shawn had a heart of gold. The heart was known to get him in trouble.
“Can you take the money, and leave the misses behind?” He asked was he was lookling between the two robbers. He was not going to look at the other female. He was afraid to draw attention to her. “You can take me. I can carry the box,” he told them.
James pulled on his father's long coat. “You can't do that Pa. I need you!”
“James. Be quiet,” he told his son.
“My hands will be occupied carrying the case. You should leave the women and the child behind,” he told them.

Jeremiah stepped forward putting the gun up between the eyes of the Undertaker. It was nearly touching his skin. “No. We are not going to bring you with us. We...I mean...” he looked at Tully. “She is coming with us. You will stay here... or else,” he said. The young man whispered to the Undertaker. “I will have to shoot you. Who will bury the undertaker?”
“Now you take three steps back, and you come forward!” He told the Tully, he aimed the other gun at the Undertaker's chest. “I will shoot him!” That was the last person Jeremiah wanted to shoot. Shooting an undertaker would be wrong, because he was a man who worked for God. There had been stories about Undertakers are like ghosts when they get killed. Jeremiah had not planned to be haunted by the Undertaker's ghost.

“Okay,†Jeremiah replied. He nodded to the other man. The other man was a man who was going to rob the place. That was funny. Jeremiah laughed. He had found it funny. “Okay, you step back Undertaker. You! The one with the ugly curls! You come forward,†he told her.
"Ugly..?" Fuming, Tully looked at Jeremiah, but held back, instead grabbing her pack and the new coat before starting to move from around the counter. With luck, Jeremiah was trying to help and not just looking to drag her away with his partner and shoot her.
"Yeah, I'm comin'." Tully took the change box and tucked it under her arm then stalked toward the door. Glancing at Shawn, she shrugged. "Don't go doin' nothin' stupid, mister, I'll be all right, an' you got that boy..." Even if she was in real danger, she wasn't worth the man risking his life.
“Can you take the money, and leave the misses behind?†He asked was he was lookling between the two robbers. He was not going to look at the other female. He was afraid to draw attention to her. “You can take me. I can carry the box,†he told them.

“James. Be quiet,†he told his son.
“My hands will be occupied carrying the case. You should leave the women and the child behind,†he told them.
"Told ya, I ain't worth it," Tully grumbled, shaking her head. "Just...stay with yer boy...I 'preciate th' try..."
Jeremiah stepped forward putting the gun up between the eyes of the Undertaker. It was nearly touching his skin. “No. We are not going to bring you with us. We...I mean...†he looked at Tully. “She is coming with us. You will stay here... or else,†he said. The young man whispered to the Undertaker. “I will have to shoot you. Tully felt her heart skip at Jeremiah's threats, knowing that he was fully capable of doing what he said, and not really sure he wouldn't. "I'm goin'," she grumbled, glancing at Shawn. "Thanks fer tryin', ain't nothin' more you could do.
As she started out the door, she glanced at the prissy-dressed girl standing there and roller her eyes. "Close yer mouth or yer gonna catch flies!"

Emeline's mouth was indeed hanging open, and she snapped it shut as the woman with the unruly hair passed her. Secretly, she wished it was she who was being taken as the hostage, it would be sooo exciting, and she could brag to her friends! On the other hand, she was mode than happy to just shuffle off to the side and let the bad guys leave, except that they had all her money!

Grabbing the girl by her collar he motioned to the first robber to follow him out the door. Outside several women gasped as Lewis moved across the wooden walkway and out into the dusty street.
"Git on my hoss," he grumbled at the girl. She was so tiny he easily lifted her onto his saddle then mounted himself behind her. "Hang onto thet cash-box or, I swear to Gawd, I'll make you sorry. Com'on, pawdner," he called back at the other robber and spurred his black and white pinto down the road heading out of town, his neckerchief still covering his lower face, pistol still in his hand.
((ooc: FYI - Jeremiah was supposed to act like he was robbing the customers but not actually take anything from them.))

Jeremiah held his reaction. He was going to shoot the other man because how he grabbed Tully by her collar. Jeremiah brown eyes showed he was startled at first. The honest truth, Jerry could shoot the other man. No. He had to allow the other man to do his thing. Jeremiah moved out of the General Store. The other robber was manhandling Tully. Jeremiah started to dislike the man. The other man had ruined his robbery. The fake robbery was not supposed to be a real robbery. It was harmless at first, but someone might be shot at the end. Jeremiah was planning that was going to be the other robber.
Jeremiah decided to let the man order him around. Jerry play with it. He got his horse. He could not shoot the man because he had Tully on his horse. DId the other man had a sense what Jerry was up too? Was the man planning to take the money and take Tully away from Jerry? He had not intention trusting the other man. The fact was Jeremiah could not shoot the other man because Tully would hate Jeremiah shooting the other man. It was better not to shoot the other man. Lord knows, he deserved it. However, Jeremiah had wanted to help Tully. He was happy to see her back. The three rode up the street and out of the Del Fuego to the outside. Jeremiah pulled on his reigns hard. He glared the other man in the eyes. "Who the hell do you think you are? That was my robbery, not yours!"

Tully grumbled under her breath, but let the man drag her along then plop her on the horse. "Doncha be puttin' them hands nowhere they don't belong," she snapped, sitting stiffly in front of him, clutching the box and her pack to her chest.
When Jeremiah finally caught up to them, she glared at him and was about to say something when he spoke first.
Jeremiah pulled on his reigns hard. He glared the other man in the eyes. "Who the hell do you think you are? That was my robbery, not yours!"
"What's that mean?" Frowning, she looked from one man to the other, then she shook her head. "I was just there ta get what I need...didn't mean ta do 'nough ta go ta prison..." What a mess, and she blamed everyone else!
